They push the envelope by moving out into the whelping area floor space beyond the weaning pen, and then by mid-week into the tiled kitchen area. We experiment with noise sensitivity (banging pots and pans), virtually all are non-plussed, or at best mildly startled for a couple seconds. The vacuum is another thing, they all hate it, but so does mom.

Feeding time is quite the adventure. They continue to nurse, but Caly's patience is beginning to fade, and they enjoy their gruel baths several times a day. A neighbor and her children visted earlier in the week, and we had a chance to do some out of the immediate family socialization. Mr. Teal remains the adventurous, going where no puppy has dared to go before.

Their uncles are still a little bemused by it all, sniffing, holding ground for a moment and then wandering off to ponder what their world has come to. The little ones seem in awe, but not fear, of the big boys as they stroll through the kitchen play area.
