The Samsonites continue to develop their awareness of their environment. We add the weaning box extension to their Whelping pen, doubling their living space. Not surprisingly, Mr. Teal, followed by Ms. Raspberry are the first adventurers to scale the 6" wall into the new play area. For a few days, until his bigger peers figure out how to climb over, Mr. Teal delights in the luxury of a huge space to himself and spends a lot of time lazing in solo luxury. Traci scatters puppy toys (stuffies, nylabones, small squeaky balls) and they play with them, although most of their waking play time is discovery of each other — mouthing, wrestling, and "bumper car" activity. Barks and an occasional howl get added to the puppy litany of grunts, whines and squeaks.

As they've increased in size, room at Mom's breakfast bar is crowded and they wrestle for space. Occassionally a pup will submarine upside on its back to get to the bottom nipples. Their teeth begin to develop, but are not yet an issue for Caly. Traci starts weaning them on a gruel mixture of kibble, goats milk, and raw ground turkey.
