These are the "keepers" from our first breeding at Stardust Shilohs, Asgard Samson and Calypso.
, "Cinder," is a Black and Tan Dual with a loving, calm confident temperament whom we have high hopes for as our next conformation and breeding female.
, "Razzle," is a light brown sable with striking facial features and a very outgoing, tomboy personality like her mother. Razzle is mega-e symptomatic, but doing well, and will likely train for therapy work.
Please visit the Our Shilohs section to meet our new girls.

Although semi-retired from showing; Bismarck won this title (only the second rare breed to do so) as a result of his performances in Woodstown, Providence, and Reading.

- 02.2008 : We're EXPECTING!
Stardust Shilohs is extremely delighted to announce the long awaited breeding of two outstanding dogs, NSbCH Asgard-Samson CGC, TDI, HD1 "Samson" to GVx2 abrCH G&T's Calypso Sumr Brz Msn-Dxn, CGC, TT "Caly." Puppies confirmed today, Valentine's Day, via ultrasound and are due on St Patrick's Day.
These two outstanding Shiloh Shepherds combine old line Shilohs in both parents' pedigrees with a touch of Artus in the 3rd generation through Samson. Breeders and Conformation fanciers will fully appreciate the outstanding pedigrees that the parents bring, including: King Shepherd foundation dogs Thor and Panda, and legendary greats Captain, Lobo, Shep, Rebel, and Trinka.

- 01.2008 : Bismarck and Savvi are parents!
GV NSx3 abrCH G&T's Semper Fi of Mason-Dixon CGC, TDI (aka Bismarck) and Evadne's Savannah Raid The
Wind (aka Savvi) are proud parents to eight bundles of joy. Savvi gave birth
to seven boys and one girl, born today January 24, 2008.
In the words of Granny Wendy [of Windsong/Raid The Wind]: "The pedigree on this
litter has many of the Shiloh Shepherd greats in there. These pups should have
the brains of London and Gypsy, hips from Artie and Bismarck, and the beautiful,
perfect movement of Lobo, Orso, Trinka and Shep. And I can not say enough about
the beautiful heads in this pedigree. There is just a touch of outcross by
Sonny in this litter at the third generation . . . more beautiful heads and
fantastic bone!
- 01.2008 : Stardust Announces Retirement of Rommel; Implementation of Additional Standard Health Testing
In November 2007, Rommel began to exhibit a pronounced limp. A course of antiinflamatories and rest did not fully relieve the condition. After examination by an orthopedic specialist, he was diagnosed as having mild dysplasia in his left elbow with Ununified Aconeal Process (DJD). The right elbow is normal. Surgery is indicated and will be scheduled in the near future to partially alleviate the condition.
At the same time, we were concerned over a loss of weight and ran two TLI tests 30 days apart which yielded readings of 1.9 and .7. Readings below 2.5 indicate a diagnosis of EPI, a genetic pancreatic disorder.
As a result of these diagnoses, and in line with our commitment as breeders to continuously improve the health of the Shiloh breed, Rommel has been formally retired from the Stardust breeding program and neutered.
We regret that his size, type, and above all, his outstanding temperament will not pass to future generations. Rommel sired one litter prior to his diagnosis, and the breeder has been notified. As is our practice with health testing on all our Shilohs, this information has been shared with the ISSDC community of breeders with whom we work.
Rommel will live in retired bliss with the Stardust family, occasionally working as a Therapy Dog.
As a result we have added elbow testing and certification to our breeding program. Both Bismarck and Calypso have been certified as OFA Normal. Additionally, anticipating an upcoming winter breeding, we ran a TLI on Calypso, which measured 12.3, well within normal limits.
- 05.2007 : Caly named Grand Victrix for the 2006 Show year by the ISSDC and awarded BOB at ISSDC National Specialty!
The judge didn't take her decision lightly, we ran and ran. The dogs were examined thoroughly and with much
contemplation. Then the Breed ring was opened up to the size of two standard rings and we took them around some more.
The judge congratulated the club and all the participants for the fine quality of dogs she was able to judge that
afternoon and then pointed to her winner of the 2006 ISSDC National Specialty. It was none other than our Caly.
We do a lot of showing and every win is special, but to win the BOB at the national specialty with the amount
and quality of dogs there was simply an amazing feeling.
And when we thought the day couldn't get any better we were surprised and pleased to learn Caly had also earned the ISSDC Grand Victrix award for the 2006 Show Year. What an amazing honor for Caly and us. Caly has earned the GV award for both her registry and breed club for 2006.
- 05.2007 : Bismarck awarded NS title by the ISSDC for the 2006 Show Year.
Bismarck has been awarded a National Select [NS] award from the breed club for his achievements in the 2006 Show Year. The awards were given out at the Rarities/NAKC Memorial Day Classic in Brookville, PA.
The ISSDC awards Grand Victor/Grand Victrix awards as well as 10 National Select awards.
- 05.2007 : Bismarck and Caly named Grand Victor and Grand Victrix for the 2006 Show year by the TSSR!
We are excited to share the news the TSSR has announced its GV awards for the 2006 Show Year. Grand Victor for the 2006 Show Year was awarded to our Bismarck, NSx2 abrCH G&T's Semper Fi Of Mason-Dixon, CGC, TDI; and Grand Victrix for the 2006 Show Year was awarded to our
sugar plum Caly, abrCH G&T's Calypso Sumr Brz Msn-Dxn, CGC, TT (Caly).
GV is awarded to to the dog and bitch with the highest total of GV/NS points. (They must win BOB/BOS to accumulate these points).
To qualify for GV/NS with the TSSR, Shilohs have to complete and pass the required health testing for Final Breeding Certificates of Registration and have their Breed Championship.
We want to thank their breeder Lisa Leilich of Mason Dixon Kennels and we believe they may be the first pair of brother/sister GVs for the same show year, they are the first in the TSSR.
